FOTA exists to enhance the learning environment and opportunities of all students involved in every facet of “The Arts” at Forest Lake College.
This is achieved by:
- Fundraising for a major long term project – to purchase a baby Grand Piano.
- Fundraising for specified yearly project/s (minor projects).
- Catering for Performing Arts functions and events for fundraising.
- Providing a contact with other parents to promote active parent involvement in their child’s “Arts” activities.
- Campus contacts (both APC & CAC) to provide a point of contact for parents with issues relating to performing or visual arts activities.
- Assisting with dance and drama costumes – making, repairing, sourcing, cleaning and storing of costumes.
- Assisting with car pooling for rehearsals.
- Providing Box Office duties at Performing Arts events to free up staff and enhance contact with parents.
FOTA is also available to act as a forum for parents to raise any questions they have regarding the Performing Arts or Visual Arts programs across both the College Avenue and Alpine Place campuses.
In previous years, FOTA supported and partially funded a Performing Arts tour during school holidays to Sydney, a DVD player for the Drama room and an electric keyboard for Stage Band.
